Watch what your cat already destroys. If it claws the carpet or a rug, buy a horizontal scratcher — the Fortune Cat box or a sisal mat. If it goes up the side of the lounge or a door frame, buy the L-shaped Wall Scratcher Board, because a flat mat will not redirect that habit. If it wants somewhere to hide as well as scratch, the Tent and the Cat Houses do both jobs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eChoosing a bed.\u003c\/strong\u003e Enclosed beds suit cats that sleep tucked into corners; a cat that sprawls in the middle of the floor will ignore one.
