It treats up to 150 litres, needs no pre-rinsing and no media bag, and — unlike cheap granular carbon — does not shed dust or leach phosphate into the tank. Drop it into the filter and it starts pulling out dissolved pollutants, tannins, odours and residual medication.

Carbon is a consumable. Once it is saturated it stops adsorbing, and leaving it in permanently just costs you flow. Take it out after a course of medication or replace it every few weeks if you are running it continuously. It also strips trace elements, so it is not something to run non-stop in a planted tank you are dosing.

Suits

Freshwater and marine aquariums

Up to 150 L per 250 g block

Canister, internal and sump filtration

More filter media is stocked in Fish Filters and Media and the rest of the Ocean Free range.

More about this range at Ocean Free (Yi Hu Fish Farm Trading)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0563/6676/0120/files/OFC02_ebaaf5b8-c0a6-489f-a03b-22399a7c0c79.jpg?v=1787816981
