Water-rounded rather than fractured, which makes them the odd one out in a range otherwise built on sharp, grooved aquascaping stone.

Smooth stone is the right call in two situations. The first is a tank with soft-bellied bottom-dwellers — corydoras, loaches, small eels — where sharp rock and gravel cause barbel and skin damage over time. The second is a scape that is already busy: a bed of rounded stones calms a layout down where more fissured rock would add noise.

Before you order

Sizes are mixed and vary between boxes.
