4Cyte Joint Supplements
The 4Cyte range at PeekAPaw is built around Epiitalis, an extract of Biota orientalis seed oil, and comes in two formats for dogs, cats and horses: Epiitalis Forte Gel and Granules.
Gel or granules?
The Epiitalis Forte Gel is a palatable oral gel given daily and measured out as the label directs, which makes it the easier choice for cats, small dogs and any animal that picks granules out of its bowl. Pack sizes are 50ml and 100ml for cats, 50ml, 100ml and 200ml for dogs, and 250ml and 1L for horses. The Granules are fed over the top of normal feed and suit animals that eat readily; the canine granules pair Epiitalis with green-lipped mussel, abalone and marine cartilage, and come in 50g and 100g, with 700g and 3.5kg tubs for horses. Follow the amount printed on the pack for your animal's weight.
Before you buy
These are daily supplements fed continuously rather than as a short course, so the running cost matters more than the pack price. Buy the small size first to check your animal accepts it, then move up once you have settled on a format. If your pet or horse is lame, sore, or has changed the way it moves, speak to your vet — a joint supplement supports mobility, it does not diagnose or treat the cause.
