EAC Animal Care is a nutraceutical range built around gut health, and in-Sideout is the product the rest of it is designed to sit alongside. There are three in-Sideout formulas, for cats, dogs and horses, sharing the same pre and probiotic core of Lactobacillus acidophilus, Enterococcus faecium and Bacillus subtilis, with fish peptides added to the cat version and dosing scaled by bodyweight or workload. Everything else in the range does one specific job: osmo-lyte replaces what a horse sweats out, in-Sandout deals with ingested sand, in-Stride feeds hoof horn, in-Fusion HA and in-Fusion MSM support joints and connective tissue, in-Force is a mycotoxin binder, and Shine & Glide is plain cold-pressed hemp oil for skin and coat.
Which osmo-lyte
Three products, one decision. osmo-lyte is minerals only, no vitamins, and is the one to use if your horse is already on a fortified feed. osmo-lyte active is the same feeding rate with a full B-group vitamin blend plus A, C, E and choline, and more betaine. Osmo-Lyte Rapid is the active formulation as a gel in 250ml and 1L, for when you want to give it without mixing a feed.
Worth knowing before you buy
- Shine & Glide and competition. The manufacturer states it may contain traces of THC and return a positive swab in performance and racing animals. Check the rules that apply to you before feeding it.
- in-Sandout is a short course, not a daily feed. It is fed for no longer than seven days in any month, should not be fed if impaction or intestinal blockage is present, and may need other magnesium supplements paused while it is in use.
- in-Stride is slow by nature. It works on hoof horn as it grows, and the manufacturer says a visible change can take up to 24 weeks.
- in-Fibre comes two ways. The 250g pouch is labelled for dogs and cats, the 2kg bag for horses. Same human food grade psyllium husk in both.
