A kitten neutered at this age still needs protein and energy to finish growing, but its energy requirement drops sharply within days of the operation, so a standard kitten food will usually start putting weight on. This formula keeps protein at 34% for growth while lowering the energy density and lifting crude fibre to 9.8%, so the bowl still looks full at a smaller calorie count. Prebiotics and highly digestible protein support the developing gut microbiome, and an antioxidant complex supports natural defences at a stage when immunity is still building.
