Small animal habitats and cages, all from Ferplast, covering rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and mice, together with the base and roof extensions and metal stands that go with them. This is the parent page for the cage range: if you already know which animal you are shopping for, the species pages below will be quicker.

Reading the model names

Ferplast numbers a cage by its size within a family, so Casita 80, Casita 100 and Casita 120H run in ascending order, and Rabbit 100 sits below Rabbit 120. The stands are numbered to match the cages they are built for — Stand 80 for the smaller rodent cages and Stand 100 for the Rabbit 100 size — so pick the stand carrying the same number as the cage. Names are a shortcut, not a specification: check the listed dimensions against the space you have before you order, particularly if the habitat has to fit a shelf, an alcove or a hallway.

The Multipla modular system

Multipla is the range that grows. The Multipla Modular Cage for Rabbits and Guinea Pigs is the starting point; Multipla Maxi is the larger footprint; Multipla Double is a two-storey version; Multipla Open is an open-topped pen aimed at guinea pigs, which do not climb out; and Multipla Hamster is the small-rodent build with its own accessories. The Multipla Base Extension and Multipla Roof Extension are sold on their own, so a habitat bought this year can be made taller or wider next year instead of replaced. If you expect to add a second animal, starting inside the Multipla system saves buying twice.

Which cage suits which animal

Rabbits and guinea pigs take the larger footprints: Rabbit 100 and Rabbit 120, the Casita 80, 100 and 120H hutches, and the Multipla family. Guinea pigs also have the Cavie 80 with its opening door and the open-topped Multipla Open. Hamsters and mice are served by the Multipla Hamster Cage, the MILOS Medium Cage and the two COMBI 1 cages, which use connecting tubes and a second floor rather than raw floor area. Bedding, hay racks, hideouts and grooming gear are on the related pages.
