Slow feeder bowls versus lick mats

A slow feeder bowl has ridges or a maze moulded into the base so a dog eating dry biscuits has to nose around them instead of inhaling the lot. Pet DreamHouse PAW and SPIN bowls, All Fur You's bamboo, raised and wobbler bowls, the FurKidz slow feeder and the Zippy Paws SmartPaws puzzler all work this way, and the SPIN models let you change the difficulty as your dog gets quicker at it.
