Feeding Tools

Products that change how a meal is served rather than what is in it. The core of the range is slow feeders and lick mats for dogs and cats, joined by feeding mats and placemats, automatic portioned feeders, treat-dispensing feeder toys, a travel water bottle, and dedicated feeders for birds and fish.

Slow feeder bowls versus lick mats

A slow feeder bowl has ridges or a maze moulded into the base so a dog eating dry biscuits has to nose around them instead of inhaling the lot. Pet DreamHouse PAW and SPIN bowls, All Fur You's bamboo, raised and wobbler bowls, the FurKidz slow feeder and the Zippy Paws SmartPaws puzzler all work this way, and the SPIN models let you change the difficulty as your dog gets quicker at it. Lick mats work with soft food instead: wet food, yoghurt or a spread smeared into a textured surface. LickiMat's Soother, Buddy, Playdate, Slodog and Keeper are the main shapes, with Tuff versions in a stiffer material for determined chewers and cat versions in Casper, Felix, Slomo, Soother, Buddy and Playdate sized for a smaller tongue. KONG, West Paw, Doggylicious and All for Paws make lick pads that can be filled and frozen for a longer session. Feeder balls and treat dispensers from KONG, Tonka and Nerf move food around the floor.

Mats, automatic feeders and other species

Silicone placemats from All Fur You and West Paw sit under the bowl and catch what gets pushed out. Snuffle-style mats such as Petstages Hunt 'N Snack and Fishie Fun hide biscuits in fabric for cats to forage. Automatic feeders portion meals when nobody is home, including the Catit Pixi Smart six-meal feeder with its replacement ice pack. Past dogs and cats, there are bird feeders and drinkers from Cheeky Bird, Birdie and Vetafarm; Nutrafin Basix three-day and seven-day and Hydor Ekomixo fish feeders for time away from the tank.
