ADVANCE dog and cat food
ADVANCE is made in Australia and formulated for Australian pets, with recipes developed using laboratory analysis plus palatability and digestibility testing, backed by the Waltham Petcare Science Institute. PeekAPaw carries 61 ADVANCE lines across dry and wet food for dogs and cats.
The dog range is organised three ways at once, which is the part most people find confusing. First by breed size — Small, Medium and Large differ in kibble size and energy density, and a large breed bag means bigger kibble than a small dog can comfortably chew. Second by life stage — Puppy, Adult and Healthy Ageing. Third by health need — Healthy Weight, Sensitive Skin & Digestion, and Triple Action Dental Care. A dog usually sits in one option from each axis, so start with size, then pick the line.
The breed specific bags (Maltese Crosses, Oodles, Terriers, Retrievers, Shepherds) are worth a look if your dog matches, but they are not a different class of food — they are the size-appropriate formula with adjustments. If your breed is not listed, the standard Small, Medium or Large bag is the same idea.
Every ADVANCE cat product we carry is wet food, in trays and jelly pouches. There is no ADVANCE dry cat food in our range, so a cat switched fully onto ADVANCE will be on a wet diet. The 85g packs are single serve, which suits cats that reject food once it has been in the fridge, though it costs more per kilogram than a large tin.
Dog bag sizes run from 800g to 20kg. The 800g bags are genuinely useful as a trial before committing to 15kg, because a dog that will not eat a new food leaves you with a very large bag of it.
