Feline Natural Cat Food
Feline Natural is the cat range from New Zealand's Natural Pet Food Group, the same producer behind K9 Natural. The recipes are built on 98% meat, organs, bones and New Zealand green mussel, with no grain or fillers, and PeekAPaw stocks them in three formats: freeze dried raw, cans and single-serve pouches.
Freeze dried is concentrated, so read the weights carefully
Feline Natural rates its freeze dried range at roughly four times its dry weight once water is added, which is why a bag that looks small beside a case of cans lasts a good deal longer. Add warm water and let it stand for a few minutes before serving. Feeding the pieces dry does work, but it throws away the moisture that is the main reason to feed a raw-style diet to a cat. Start on the 100g bag before committing to 800g; plenty of cats need a week to accept the texture.
Cans and pouches are ready to serve
Pouches are 85g singles, which suits one cat and leaves nothing to store. Cans come as 85g and 170g, and the 170g needs refrigerating and using within a couple of days once opened, so it really only makes sense in a multi-cat household. Several recipes run across formats, so you can trial Beef & Hoki or Chicken & Lamb as a can or a pouch before buying the freeze dried bag of the same recipe.
Not everything here is a complete diet
The Feasts are complete and balanced in every format. The Healthy Bites and the Lamb Green Tripe Booster are a treat and a topper, meant to go on top of a complete meal rather than replace one. Fed as the whole diet, a booster leaves a cat short.
