BD insulin syringes marked for U-100 insulin (100 units/mL), with the needle fixed on. This matters: common veterinary insulins such as Caninsulin and ProZinc are U-40 and must be drawn up with U-40 syringes — using the wrong syringe gives the wrong dose. Only use these if your vet has prescribed a U-100 insulin.
0.3mL, 0.5mL and 1mL barrels with 29G x 12.7mm, 30G x 8mm or 31G x 8mm needles, each a box of 100. Part of the BD range.
Key points
- U-100 scale — For 100 units/mL insulin only.
- Fixed needle — No dead space between needle and barrel.
- Box of 100 — Sterile, single use.
Handling
Single use only. Do not re-sheath a used needle. Dispose of used sharps in an approved sharps container — never in household or farm waste. Sale and possession of hypodermic needles and syringes is regulated in some Australian states and territories; buy and use them in line with your local requirements.
