Compressed kiln-dried pine shavings that expand once the bale is cut open. Dust extraction is the point — respirable dust is one of the things that makes a closed stable hard on a horse's airway. Expect to shake a bale out properly; straight out of the wrap it looks like far less bedding than it turns into.
Supplied as a 10kg compressed bale — roughly one to top up, three or four to build a fresh bed. See also Eco Bedding and Horse Mate.
