A training clicker in a football shape. The clicker's whole purpose is timing: it makes an identical sound every time, which lets you mark the precise instant a dog does the right thing instead of relying on how fast you can get a treat out.
The shaped body sits in the hand better than a flat box clicker when you are also managing a lead. The click is sharp, so introduce it from a distance if your dog is sound sensitive.
Also in Brightkins: the same clicker in bone and puppy shapes. Pair it with small soft rewards from dog treats.
Features
- Consistent marker sound — the same click every press
- Shaped body — easier to grip than a flat clicker
- Reward-based training — mark first, then pay
- Pocket sized
How to use
Charge the clicker first — click, then treat, twenty or so times, until the dog looks for the reward on hearing it. From then on click the instant the behaviour happens and deliver the treat straight after. Never click without paying it, or the marker loses its meaning.
