Panacur 100 is a fenbendazole drench — a benzimidazole, which is one of the older chemical groups. That matters: benzimidazole resistance is widespread in Australian sheep worms, so on many properties this works well in cattle and poorly in sheep. A worm egg count reduction test is the only way to know which situation you are in.
Supplied in 1L, 5L and 20L. See also Coopers Easy Dose for a pour-on option.
Key points
- Fenbendazole — benzimidazole group, broad spectrum
- Three sizes — 1L for a few head, 20L for commercial mobs
- Test before you rely on it — benzimidazole resistance is common
Safety
Withholding periods for meat, milk and wool and export slaughter intervals apply. Read the label before treating any animal destined for sale, and rotate chemical groups between seasons rather than relying on one active — resistance is the main reason a drench stops working.
