A plain, tall sisal scratching post in three configurations. Height is the thing that matters most and the thing cheap posts get wrong: a cat scratches to stretch as much as to strip claws, so a post it cannot reach the top of while standing on its hind legs will be ignored in favour of the sofa arm. At 24 and 27 inches these clear that bar for most adult cats.
The platform versions add a perch on top. Worth it if your cat already sits on things and you have the floor space; skip it if you just want the scratching surface, since the extra height and mass make the post harder to move around.
Options
- 24 Inch with Platform - shortest, with a top perch.
- 27 Inch - post only, maximum scratching height.
- 27 Inch with Platform - tallest, with a top perch.
Placing it
Put it where the cat already scratches, not where it suits the room. Move it slowly to a better spot over a few weeks once it is being used.
