Bone-shaped, but cut from coffee wood rather than anything that came off an animal. The timber is grubbed from spent coffee plants, dense and close-grained, so a chewing dog raises soft fibres off it instead of snapping off splinters. The limitation worth knowing: a dog that cracks bones for sport can chip a tooth on any hard chew. Pick the size that suits the jaw and bin it once it is small enough to go down whole.
Two sizes rather than three — Small at 14 x 5.5cm and Large at 20 x 7.5cm. Bigger dogs want the Large; a chew that fits behind the molars is the one that causes trouble. If your dog prefers something to tug as well, the Coffee Wood Rope Tugg with Tennis Balls is the same wood with rope attached.
Features
- Coffee wood — close-grained hardwood from grubbed-out coffee plants.
- Bone shape — the waist gives paws somewhere to hold it steady.
- Wears to fibre — the surface softens as it is chewed rather than splintering.
- Two sizes — Small 14 x 5.5cm and Large 20 x 7.5cm.
Care
Supervised chewing only, and replace the bone once it is worn small enough to swallow.
