A fitted post-operative bodysuit that covers the chest and abdomen, used after desexing, abdominal surgery or for skin conditions on the trunk. Many dogs and cats cope better in a suit than a cone: they can eat, drink and sleep normally and see where they are going. A suit does not protect the legs, tail or head, so for wounds there you still need an Elizabethan collar.
Five sizes from X-Small to X-Large. Size by your pet's back length and chest girth, and check with your vet that the suit covers the wound fully. Part of the Genia recovery range.
Tips
- Check it daily — Look at the wound and the fit, especially around the legs and under the arms.
- Toileting — Unfasten the rear section for toilet breaks and keep it clean and dry.
- Not a dressing — The suit covers a wound; it does not replace a dressing your vet has applied.
