The mistake to avoid — a balancer is not a hard feed. Feeding it by the scoop like a normal ration is expensive, unnecessary, and can push mineral intakes past where you want them. It is designed to go in at a small measured amount, which is exactly what makes it suitable for good doers who need nutrition but not calories.
