A sweat scraper — a curved blade that pulls standing water and sweat off a horse's coat after a hose down or hard work. Sheeting the water off first means the horse dries in a fraction of the time, which matters on a cold day when a wet coat will chill it.
Use it along the muscle in the direction of the hair, on the neck, barrel and quarters. Keep it off bony areas — the legs, face and spine — where there is no padding under the skin.
