TRIM is the weight-management formula, for easy keepers — the cresty-necked pony, the horse with abnormal fat pads over the shoulder and tailhead, the metabolic type at risk of laminitis. It uses magnesium, chromium, vitamin C and choline to support insulin function and the way the horse handles dietary fat and sugar. It is one part of the answer only: a supplement will not out-run unrestricted access to spring grass, and any laminitic horse needs a vet and a diet plan first.
Available in 1.4kg and 4kg packs and a 10kg bucket. Pair it with a low-sugar balancer such as Cell-Provide rather than a performance product.
Benefits
- Insulin support — magnesium and chromium in one formula
- Fat and sugar handling — targets metabolic processing of the diet
- Cresty, easy-keeping types — built for ponies and good doers
- Choline and vitamin C — included alongside the minerals
Feeding Guide
Daily dose rates vary with bodyweight, workload and the rest of the ration. Follow the rate printed on the pack, and introduce any new supplement gradually over several days.
Kohnke's Own does not publish a full guaranteed analysis for TRIM online. The composition panel is printed on the pack. Laminitis-prone horses should be managed under veterinary advice.
