Melanie Newman Soothe Dog Shampoo is an Australian-made salon shampoo scented with chamomile, sage and calendula essential oils. It is formulated for dogs with sensitive skin, and for owners who want as little fragrance as possible. The fragrance is deliberately restrained — chamomile and sage rather than a bold perfume — so it will not carry the way the Everyday or Refresh ranges do. If you want a dog that smells strongly of the salon afterwards, this is the wrong range.

The 5L is a salon and commercial size aimed at groomers washing several dogs a day. It arrives as a heavy drum and does not include a pump - Melanie Newman sells one separately - so it is worth decanting into a smaller bottle for home use.
Dilution & How to Use
Melanie Newman does not publish a dilution ratio for this product, and none of the sizes are sold as a concentrate to be mixed down - the 5L holds the same formula as the 500ml, in a bulk salon container. Wet the coat through, work the product in from the neck back, leave it a minute on a dirty or heavily coated dog, then rinse until the water runs clear.
Care
Formulated for dogs. The essential oil blends in this range are not suitable for use on cats. Keep out of the eyes, store below 30°C out of direct sunlight, and patch test on a dog with known skin sensitivity before a full bath.
