A hideout your pet is meant to eat. The Hay Hut is built from pressed wood fibre held together with a plant-based binder and topped with alfalfa and oaten hay, so it works as shelter, chew toy and forage all at once. Because it is edible it is also consumable — a determined rabbit will demolish one, so treat it as an enrichment item with a life span, not a permanent piece of housing.
Two sizes: Medium and Large. Peters does not publish internal dimensions, so size on your animal — guinea pigs and dwarf rabbits generally suit the Medium, standard-size rabbits the Large. See the small animal supplies range.
Features
- Edible construction — recycled edible cardboard topped with hay, safe to chew apart.
- Shelter and security — a place to retreat to, which matters for a prey species.
- Two sizes — Medium and Large.
Materials
Pressed wood fibre, alfalfa hay, oaten hay, plant-based binding agent.
Care
Place in a dry part of the enclosure and replace once it has been chewed down or becomes soiled. Keep dry — it is cardboard and hay, and it will collapse if it gets wet.
