A 14W ultraviolet steriliser built to drop into a Teco TR10, TR15 or TR20 chiller so the water already passing through the unit is also treated for free-floating algae and waterborne pathogens. It saves plumbing a separate UV unit and a second set of hoses.
This kit fits the TR10, TR15 and TR20 only. It is not a retrofit for the TK series, and UV output falls as the lamp ages — most keepers replace the lamp annually even though it still lights up.
Notes
- Sterilising performance depends on contact time, so it works best at the lower end of the chiller's flow range.
- Turn UV off while dosing bacteria supplements or medications that are UV-sensitive.
- Never look at an operating UV-C lamp outside its housing.
