Dried seaweed meal — a traditional broad-spectrum mineral and trace element source fed to horses, cattle, sheep and poultry.
Seaweed meal is fed at low daily rates, which is why a bag lasts a long time and why it is one of the cheapest ways to cover trace elements across a mob. It complements a balanced ration rather than replacing a formulated vitamin and mineral supplement.
Choosing a size — 5kg suits one or two horses, 20kg is the property or stud size. Store sealed and dry; seaweed meal is hygroscopic and will cake solid in a bag left open in a humid shed.
Check the label for the current feeding rate.
