Wahl Pet Ear Cleaner is a 175ml routine cleaning solution for dogs and cats — the maintenance step for ears that are basically healthy but pick up wax and debris, particularly in drop-eared breeds and dogs that swim.
This is where the important limit sits. A routine cleaner is for a normal ear. If the ear is red, smelly, painful, discharging, or the dog is shaking its head and scratching, that is an ear infection or possibly a foreign body, and it needs a vet to look inside with an otoscope. Pouring cleaner into an infected or perforated ear can make things considerably worse.
How to use
- Fill the ear canal, massage the base of the ear for several seconds
- Let your pet shake, then wipe the visible part of the ear with cotton wool
- Never push cotton buds down the canal
- Clean weekly to fortnightly, or as your vet advises
Avoid contact with eyes. Stop use and see a vet if the ear becomes sore.
