Buffering pellets for horses on high-grain diets
Alka Pellets pH Plus is a fed-in buffer aimed at horses whose diets push hindgut pH down — heavy grain rations, hard feed twice a day, limited turnout.
A buffer is not a substitute for fixing the ration. If a horse is showing signs of hindgut discomfort, the first thing to look at is the grain-to-fibre ratio, not the supplement shelf.
