Dermcare is an Australian veterinary dermatology range, and the products PeekAPaw stocks do quite different jobs. Malaseb is an antibacterial and antifungal medicated shampoo for dogs and cats, indicated for seborrhoeic dermatitis associated with Staphylococcus pseudintermedius and Malassezia pachydermatis, and as an aid in treating ringworm. Pyohex Medicated Shampoo is antibacterial only and for dogs, with a matching Pyohex Medicated Conditioner that is massaged in and left on rather than rinsed out. Natural Shampoo is the non-medicated option, a hypoallergenic emollient cleanser for normal and sensitive skin.
The medicated shampoos are not a quick wash. Malaseb and Pyohex are both left on the skin for ten minutes before rinsing, with the animal supervised throughout so it cannot lick or inhale the foam, and both are dosed by bodyweight - roughly 1-2mL per kg for Malaseb and 1mL per kg for Pyohex. Allow more time than an ordinary bath.
Otoflush is a dog ear flush that clears wax, exudate and debris; where there is an active infection, Dermcare states it must be used alongside an antibiotic treatment. Permoxin is an insecticidal spray and rinse concentrate for dogs and horses and must not be used on cats.
