How the dual layer system works
Instead of one deep bed of clumping litter, the tray is split into two levels. Zeolite pellets sit in a sifting top tray; urine passes straight through them to an absorbent pad in the drawer below, while solids stay on top to be scooped daily. Zeolite is a natural mineral that holds onto ammonia, so the smell is trapped at both levels rather than being stirred back into the room every time your cat digs.
The practical payoff is less litter. You are not throwing out clumped litter every day — you scoop solids, swap the pad when it is full, and top up the pellets occasionally.
Choosing a kit
The Standard kit is an open tray at 50 x 38 x 26cm. The Hooded kit at 54 x 42 x 43cm adds a cover, which holds odour in and stops litter being flicked across the floor — though some cats dislike an enclosed tray, so it is worth knowing your cat first. The XL at 70 x 47 x 35cm is the one for large breeds or a shared tray.
Pads and pellets are the consumables: standard pads come in 4 and 10 packs, with an extra-absorbent 8 pack for multi-cat households, and the pellets in 2L or 2L x8.
