Greenies dental treats are a once-a-day chew for dogs and a crunchy daily treat for cats, built so that the animal's own chewing action does the cleaning. The dog range runs to four flavours — Original, Blueberry, Fresh and Sweet Potato — each in Teenie, Petite, Regular and Large, and Greenies Feline covers Catnip, Oven-Roasted Chicken, Savoury Salmon and Tempting Tuna.
Choose the dog size by your dog's weight rather than by what looks manageable: Teenie suits 2-7kg, Petite 7-11kg, Regular 11-22kg and Large 22-45kg. A chew that is too small for the dog goes down in a couple of bites, which skips most of the cleaning action and is the usual reason a chew seems to do nothing. The four dog flavours share the same chew shape and the same dental action, so choose on flavour rather than performance — though Fresh adds mint if breath is the specific complaint. Greenies are not suitable for dogs under six months of age, and one chew a day is a real part of a small dog's daily calories, so trim meals to match if your dog is on a weight plan. The Feline treats are crunchy rather than chewy, and are a treat alongside a complete diet rather than a meal.
