Harmony covers garden feeding and aviary feeding from the same shelf. The wild bird side runs from a general 8kg mix down to a coarser Large Wildbird Mix for galahs, corellas and cockatoos. The no-waste range (a compressed 330g block and a 1kg hulled mix) exists for anyone feeding over a paved courtyard or balcony. The specialist end covers lorikeets and honeyeaters, insect-eating birds, and dried mealworms as a high-protein treat.
Choosing one — match the mix to the beak. A finch mix is wasted on a cockatoo and a coarse grain mix is wasted on wrens. Two products here are not optional for the birds they name: lorikeets have brush-tipped tongues built for nectar and do badly on seed, and insect-eating birds get nothing from a seed mix at all. Sunflower is the opposite case — it is high in oil and useful in winter, but as an everyday staple for caged parrots it causes weight problems and selective feeding.
On wild bird feeding generally: small amounts in a clean feeder, not a permanently full tray. Wet seed goes mouldy and mouldy seed spreads disease through a flock, so clean the feeder regularly and keep fresh water nearby.
