Hydor makes the hardware that keeps a tank running, and the range at PeekAPaw covers four jobs: heating, filtration, water movement and light. It spans the Theo submersible heater in six wattages from 25W to 300W, the Crystal and Pico internal filters, the Slim Skim Nano skimmer, the Koralia and Seltz pumps, the Smart Wave pump controller, and the Aqamai Wi-Fi LED lamp with its matching brackets.
Two numbers do most of the work when you choose. The first is tank volume, because Hydor rates by litres rather than by tank size in inches: 25W of Theo suits a 10-25 litre tank and 300W a 200-300 litre one, the Pico filter is rated only to 30 litres, and the Slim Skim Nano is rated to 140 litres. The second is glass thickness, because most of this range mounts magnetically to the tank wall — the Koralia G3 magnet holds on glass up to 15 mm, the Slim Skim Nano up to 10 mm and the Aqamai brackets up to 16 mm. Measure the glass before you order.
Two fit traps are worth knowing. Aqamai brackets come in Small and Medium and have to match the lamp: Small brackets are for the Small lamp, Medium for the Medium. And the Koralia pumps are circulation pumps only — Hydor states they cannot be used as filter pumps. The Smart Wave controller runs two channels at up to 100W each.
