K&H Pet Products makes bedding built around temperature: heated beds and bed warmers for winter, water-filled cooling beds and mats for summer, elevated cots that sit off the ground, and the EZ Mount range of cat beds that suction onto a window.
The electric pieces are low wattage and thermostatically controlled, which means something specific — they warm the surface to roughly a dog or cat's own body temperature once the pet lies down, and sit near room temperature the rest of the time. The Thermo-Ortho bed runs at 6 watts and the Thermo-Kitty beds at 4, and on both the heater lifts out so the bed can be washed. The Pet Bed Warmer is a heater on its own rather than a bed: it goes into bedding you already have. If a cord is impractical, the Self-Warming Crate Pad uses no power at all and simply reflects your pet's body heat back through a microfleece top.
The cooling side works the other way and also needs no electricity — the Cool Bed III and Coolin' Pet Pad are filled with water rather than gel, so you fill them once and they do not go in the fridge.
One thing worth knowing about the EZ Mount window beds: the suction cups are the part that wears, and K&H sells replacements separately in two fittings, Original and Push & Turn. Check which your bed uses before ordering.
