LifeWise cat food is a short, deliberate range: three adult dry recipes and one for kittens. All four are free of wheat, corn, soy and dairy, and the adult recipes are formulated to keep urinary pH and magnesium low — which is the reason to buy them, and also why the ingredient panel reads differently from a supermarket bag.

Chicken with Rice is the everyday recipe and the easiest transition for a cat coming off a poultry diet. Kangaroo with Lamb & Vegetable is the one for a cat reacting to chicken or fish, since kangaroo is a protein most cats have never eaten. Ocean Fish with Lamb & Vegetable is built on wild tuna and carries the omega-3 oils, but it is the wrong first choice for a fish-sensitive cat.

Sizes are 2.5kg, 9kg and 18kg for the adult recipes, and 1kg, 2.5kg and 9kg for kittens. Dry food loses aroma once opened, so the 18kg bag only makes sense in a multi-cat household or with an airtight container.
