MidWest Homes for Pets covers two jobs here: containing a dog in a crate, and fencing off a space with an exercise pen. The crate accessories — the QuietTime cover and the Snap'y Fit bowl — are sized and built to fit the crates rather than sold as standalone items.
Sizing a crate, and the pickup-only sizes
Crates are sized to the adult dog, not the puppy in front of you. The Contour Double Door crate runs 24 to 48 inch, latches with LapLock and ships with a divider panel, so the usable space can be grown as a puppy does; it has a leak-proof pan and folds flat. Above it sits the Solutions XX-Large at 54 inch, heavy-gauge steel for dogs of 45 kilos or more, with corner drop-pin construction and rubber roller feet. The 42 and 48 inch Contour sizes and the whole 54 inch crate are pickup only — the 54 inch ships as a 142 x 116 x 11cm carton weighing 38kg, so bring a vehicle that can take it.
Pens, covers and bowls
The Contour Exercise Pen has a walk-through door, which saves lifting a dog in and out daily; the plain eight-panel pen has no door but includes ground anchors and needs no tools. Order a QuietTime cover in the same inch size as the crate — it is cut to match, with hook-and-loop tabs, sides that roll up and hook, and machine washable polyester. The Snap'y Fit bowl clamps to wire mesh with two wing nuts on a rust-resistant e-coated bracket, so it cannot be tipped, and lifts out for washing; 296ml to 1.89L.
