MyM8s make a matched camo rope range — four toys and a lead that all share the same braided cotton rope. Rope gives a dog something to work at with the back teeth, and the knots do a little incidental flossing along the way.
Picking a toy
- Knot Ball 14cm — small and medium dogs. 19cm — large dogs.
- Knot Retriever 25cm — the one to throw, and the safest for tug because it keeps hands clear of teeth.
- Knot Ring 18cm — sits off the floor, so puppies and flat-faced breeds can get their teeth under it.
- Rope Lead 1.8m — standard street length, with more give than flat webbing.
Safety
Rope toys are not indestructible. Check the knots regularly and replace a toy once it starts unravelling — a dog that strips and swallows strands should be supervised or moved to solid rubber. More options in Dog Toys.
