Nature Island makes cage enrichment: perches, ladders and shreddable foraging toys for parrots and other caged birds, ceramic bowls and a play wall for small animals, and a line of Australian-made freeze dried meat treats.
The bird range splits three ways, and a cage generally wants one of each. Perches are the permanent fitting: the Manu mineral perch is cholla wood coated in calcium, iron and zinc so it grinds a beak down while it is chewed, the calcium clam bolts on flat or upright depending on whether you want a rest or a foot workout, and the cinnamon ice cream perch is an edible one. Ladders and bridges are structure - a plain wooden ladder in 7, 9 or 12 steps, a beaded ladder that bends to any cage shape, and a sisal rope and log bridge that can be hung flat as a bridge, down the bars as a climbing wall, or slack as a hammock.
The foraging toys are the consumables, and that is worth knowing before you buy: the pyramid box, the shred and find boxes and the pinata garland are cardboard and paper meant to be destroyed. A determined macaw will finish one in a session, so they suit small to medium birds or a bird you want to keep busy for an afternoon rather than a month. Do not fill a cage with them - two or three items at a time keeps a bird interested without leaving it nowhere to perch.
For small animals there are glazed ceramic bowls, including a divided one that holds food and water at once, and the Play Wall, which mounts inside an enclosure for hiding and chewing. The freeze dried treats are single-ingredient meat - lamb liver, lamb heart, lamb tongue, kangaroo, chicken breast, heart, neck and gizzard, and duck gizzard - sourced and made in Australia with nothing added.
