OPTIMUM sits above Mars Petcare's value lines and is split by the things that actually change a dog's requirements — life stage and breed size — rather than by flavour alone.

On the dog side the core is Chicken, Vegetables & Rice in 3kg and 15kg, with Small Breed and Large Breed versions of the same idea, a Puppy range including Puppy Large Breed, an Adult 7+ formula in 2.7kg and 13.7kg, and Light & Healthy 13kg for dogs carrying extra weight. Wet food runs 100g trays and 680g/700g cans, sold by the carton.

The cat range is dry only here: Kitten, Multi Cat, Furball, Healthy Weight, Urinary Care and Ocean Fish, in 1.4kg and 2.8kg bags with a 6.5kg Ocean Fish for multi-cat households.
