Vetsense is an Australian animal health brand covering birds and poultry, dogs and cats, horses and livestock. The range splits into a few clear lines: the Avi and Birdcare in-water supplements for poultry and cage birds, the DentiCare home dental products for dogs and cats, OsteoAid joint powders, electrolytes (Rehydrate, Betalyte, VyLyte), equine grooming and feed supplements, and a small group of APVMA-registered products such as Kilverm, Cocciprol, Fluverm and Permetrol.
Choosing between them — the in-water supplements (Avi-Calcium, Avi-Lyte, Avi-Vital, the Birdcare liquids) are dosed through the drinker and suit a whole flock or aviary at once; the pastes and syringes suit a single animal you can handle. Concentrates such as Permetrol, Hibisep and the PVP Iodine drums must be diluted before use and are sized for kennels, catteries and stables rather than a single pet at home.
Registered veterinary chemicals — Kilverm, Cocciprol, Fluverm, Permetrol, the Hibisep and PVP Iodine products and the disinfectants carry APVMA registration. Read the label in full before use and observe any withholding periods for eggs, milk and meat. Permethrin-based Permetrol must never be used on cats.
