Wahl at PeekAPaw covers clippers and trimmers, the blades and guide combs that go on them, blade care, six 300ml dog shampoos, and hand tools: brushes, combs, deshedding blades, scissors and nail clippers.
The thing to get right is fit, because clipper accessories are not universal and the fit list belongs to the accessory rather than the clipper. The Stainless Steel Attachment Guide Combs set, for instance, lists Wahl's detachable-blade models (KM2, KM5, KM10, KM Cordless, Thick Coat, PowerGrip, SS Pro, Stable Pro Plus and XBlock) and notes it performs best with a #30 Competition Series blade. Home clippers such as the ShowPro instead ship with their own #1 to #4 guide combs over an adjustable 30/15/10 blade. Read the model name off your clipper first; if it is not on the accessory's own list, treat it as not fitting.
With the shampoos, choose by the problem rather than the scent: Oatmeal for dry, itchy skin, Odour Control for smell without added perfumes, Shed Control through a heavy moult, Whitening for pale coats, Puppy for a tear-free first wash, and 4 IN 1 where one bottle has to do everything.
If you clip often, budget for blade care too. Blade Ice cools, lubricates and cleans in one pass, the 60ml blade oil flushes cut hair from between the teeth, and Clini-Clip disinfects blades between animals.
Wahl dog clippers and Wahl trimmers do different jobs. A clipper is for body work: taking a coat down evenly over large areas. A trimmer such as the Wahl Pocket Pro is small and light for detail ā around the paws, the face and the sanitary area ā where a full-size clipper is awkward. On detachable blades, the higher the blade number, the shorter the cut, so a #30 leaves far less coat than a #10; if you are unsure, start longer, because you can always take more off. Clip a clean, dry, fully brushed coat, and check the blade against your wrist regularly ā a blade that runs hot is a reason to stop and use Blade Ice.
