Wellness CORE is the grain free, protein-led side of the Wellness range. Every recipe here is built on the same idea: meat first, no wheat, corn or soy, and plant-based superfoods rather than cheap bulk. What changes between products is the format and the life stage, so it is worth knowing which shelf you are shopping.

Choosing between the formats

Grain free dry food is the main range and where most buyers land. Original (Chicken & Turkey) is the default adult recipe at 34% protein. Ocean swaps to whitefish, herring and salmon. Wild Game uses duck, lamb, wild boar and rabbit for dogs that have worked through the usual proteins. Puppy is formulated for growth and, unusually, its Australian life-stage statement covers growth of large size dogs as well. Reduced Fat carries 25% less fat than CORE Original. Senior and the Large Breed and Small Breed recipes adjust protein, calories and joint support rather than changing the philosophy.

Bowl Boosters pouches are toppers, not meals. They are labelled for intermittent or supplemental feeding, so they go on top of a complete and balanced diet rather than replacing it. Useful for a dog that has gone off its kibble.

Savoury Medleys tubs are complete wet food portioned for small breeds. One thing worth knowing: the recipe names are flavour names. "Braised Lamb, Venison..." is a chicken-led recipe with 3% lamb and 3% venison, which matters if you are avoiding chicken specifically.

A note on grain free

Grain free suits dogs with a confirmed grain sensitivity and dogs whose owners prefer a meat-dense diet. It is not automatically better for every dog, and grains are not inherently a problem. If your dog is doing well on a grain-inclusive food, there is no need to switch - and if you are changing diet for a health reason, your vet is the right person to ask first.
