CORE is the grain free, protein-led range within Wellness. The brand's own line is that dogs and cats, based on their primal ancestry, thrive on a natural diet built on hearty animal proteins with the right amount of plant-based ingredients - so every CORE recipe leads with meat and leaves out wheat, corn and soy.
What that looks like in practice: dry food in the mid-30s to mid-40s for protein, wet food in single-serve portions rather than large tins, and a set of toppers designed to go over a meal rather than be one.

Three things worth knowing before you buy
Toppers are not meals. The Simply Shreds pouches, for dogs and cats, are labelled for intermittent or supplemental feeding. They sit on top of a complete and balanced diet. Easy to miss, because the packaging looks like the wet food.
Wet recipe names are flavour names. A Tender Cuts pouch "with tuna" is a chicken-led recipe carrying 6% tuna; a Savoury Medleys tub "with braised lamb and venison" is 47% chicken. If you are avoiding a specific protein rather than chasing one, read the composition and not the name.
Life stage varies inside a line. The Signature Selects kitten pate is approved for all life stages and can be fed to an adult cat, while the Tiny Tasters kitten recipes are growth formulas. The Senior dog food is an adult maintenance diet with added joint support - there is no separate senior standard for it to meet.
