How Dog Rocks work
Dog Rocks are a naturally occurring paramagnetic igneous rock, mined in Australia. Placed in the bowl, they help draw impurities such as nitrates, ammonia and tin out of the drinking water. It is the nitrate concentration in dog urine that scorches grass, so lowering the nitrate load in the water lowers it in the urine — which is why the rocks go in the bowl rather than on the lawn.
How to use them
- Rinse the rocks under a tap before first use.
- Use 200g of rocks per 2 litres of water in the bowl.
- Make sure it is the only water your dog drinks — a second untreated bowl, a pond or a pool will undo the effect.
- Replace the rocks every two months. Spent rocks cannot be washed and reused.
