A combined dial hygrometer and thermometer for terrariums, reading temperature and relative humidity on one face. It needs no batteries and gives an at-a-glance check on conditions at the point where it is mounted. An analog dial is slower to respond and less precise than a digital probe, so treat it as a background reading, not as the instrument you set a basking temperature by — use a digital probe or a temp gun for that.
Mount it at the animal's height on the cool side, not directly above the heat source, or it will read the lamp rather than the enclosure. For a more accurate reading, see the dual-probe digital thermometer and thermostats in Eco Tech and Reptile Heating & Lighting.
Features
- Two readings, one gauge — temperature and relative humidity on a single dial.
- No batteries — nothing to go flat mid-season.
- Compact — mounts on the glass or enclosure wall without taking up floor space.
- Useful as a cross-check — a cheap second opinion on what a thermostat is doing.
