Calm Equine is a powdered complementary feed for horses and ponies that find travelling, competition days or a change of yard hard work. It combines magnesium, vitamin B1, selenium and L-tryptophan — the nutrients most often used in equine calming formulations. It is a nutritional supplement, not a sedative: a horse that is sharp because it is sore, underworked or overfed needs that addressed first, and anything competition-bound should be checked against the relevant rules.
2kg tub. At 50g a head daily that is about a 40-day supply for one horse. Equine Products Ireland recommends introducing it gradually over two to three days.
Benefits
- Magnesium and vitamin B1 — both routinely used to support normal nerve function.
- L-tryptophan — an amino acid precursor used in mood-focused equine formulations.
- Selenium — included at supplementary levels alongside the calming ingredients.
