A small submersible circulation pump for terrarium water features — waterfalls, streams, dripper plants — and for keeping standing water moving and oxygenated. On the 230V specification that applies here it moves up to 150 litres an hour and lifts water to 40cm, which covers tabletop water features and turtle tank circulation. It will not drive a full-height background waterfall: for that you want the Cascade HP180, which lifts to 180cm.
Never run it dry. A submersible pump is cooled by the water it moves, and running it in air will burn out the motor — this is by far the most common reason these pumps fail. Exo Terra also lists it as the replacement pump for its Pebble Waterfall units PT2905, PT2906 and PT2907; ours is the Pebble Waterfall.
