A submersible pond pump rated at 2,400 L/h with a maximum lift of 1.8 metres, built to run a small waterfall or feed a pressurised filter. Flow falls as head height rises, so judge it by the lift you actually need, not the headline figure — at 1.8m it is barely moving water, and a pump specified for its maximum head will disappoint at a waterfall.
Fluval pairs this pump with the Pressure-Flo 4500. Larger pumps in the range: 5300, 9000 and 12000. See more in Fluval.
Features
- 2,400 L/h — sized for small waterfalls and filter feeds.
- 1.8m maximum head — plan for well under this in practice.
- Submersible — sits in the pond, nothing on the bank.
- Solids-handling impeller — built for pond debris rather than clean aquarium water.
Care
Isolate the power before lifting. Clear the intake strainer of leaf litter each season; a blocked intake is the usual reason a pond pump loses flow.
