Fluval Water Conditioner (sold overseas as Aqua Plus) makes mains water safe for aquarium use, neutralising the metal toxins, chlorine and chloramine found in tap water. It suits every freshwater and saltwater keeper doing routine water changes or filling a new tank. Understand what it is not: it conditions incoming tap water only, so it will not cycle a tank or deal with the ammonia your fish produce day to day.
Fluval advises dosing for the amount of water being changed, and adding the conditioner to the replacement water before that water goes into the tank. It acts essentially instantly once mixed, so a bacterial supplement such as Fluval Biological Enhancer can go in straight afterwards. Bottle sizes here run from 30 mL to 2 L; the treatment rate is the same, only the number of doses per bottle changes.
