Cardboard is a consumable: a committed scratcher will shred one of these in a few months, and that is the job — the shredding is what saves the sofa arm. If you want something that lasts years, buy a sisal post instead. This is the plain flat board: low, textured and horizontal, which suits cats who scratch along the floor rather than the ones who stretch up a doorframe. If your cat is a vertical scratcher, a post will get more use.
Two widths. The Single is 50 x 13cm, narrow enough for a corner or a skirting board. The Double is 50 x 24cm, better for a long body or a multi-cat house. Both are reversible — flip the board when one face is worn through. For a shape with more play in it, the Banana Wobble Scratcher rocks under a paw.
Features
- Reversible — flip it when the first face is chewed out.
- Recyclable card — made from recyclable materials.
- Two widths — 50 x 13cm single for tight spots, 50 x 24cm double for wider stretch.
- Low and flat — sits on the floor and needs no wall space.
Care
Cardboard sheds as it is used — a weekly vacuum around the board keeps the mess contained.
