Da Bird is the wand that made Go Cat's name. The feather attachment is set on a swivel so it spins as you sweep the rod, and that irregular, fluttering flight is what pulls a cat off the couch when a straight-line toy will not. It suits cats that need drawing out of themselves — timid ones, bored indoor ones, older cats that have stopped initiating play.
This is an interactive toy, not a leave-out toy. It only works while you are holding it, so it is the wrong choice if you are after something your cat can amuse itself with while you are at work.
Choosing an attachment
- Original Feather — the classic spinning feather. Start here if you have never used a Da Bird.
- Pull-Apart Rod Feather — same feather, but the rod separates for storage or travel.
- Cat Catcher Mouse — a woven mouse on a wire. Good for cats that prefer ground prey to birds.
- Da Bee and Zebrafish — different shapes and movement for cats that lose interest in feathers.
Care and safety
- Natural feathers wear and shed with use — this is normal, and the attachments are sold separately as replacements.
- Put the wand away between sessions. Cord and feathers are a swallowing risk if a cat is left alone with them.
- Inspect before each session and retire the attachment once it is chewed through.
