Feather attachments are consumable. A cat that actually enjoys a wand will shred one within a few months, and the sensible fix is a new attachment rather than a whole new rod. These clip onto Go Cat's Da Bird rods and onto most other wands that use a cotter-pin or snap clip.
Check the fitting on your rod before ordering — if your wand has the string tied on rather than clipped, these will not attach.
Choosing a refill
- Feather and Turkey Feather — the standard Da Bird spinning feathers. The turkey version is the larger and more robust of the two.
- Wild Thing Feather and Fur Fun — shaggier, with more drag and a slower flight.
- Sparkler, Feather Puff and Sparkling Kitty Duster — mylar and duster heads for cats that chase visual sparkle.
- Super Refill Trio — a multi-pack, the cheaper way in if you go through attachments quickly.
Care and safety
- Unclip the old attachment and clip on the new one — no tools needed.
- Rotating between two or three attachments keeps a cat interested for longer than using one until it dies.
- Retire any attachment that is chewed to the point of shedding loose strands.
Rods to fit these are the Da Bird teaser wand and the 18in feather teaser wands.
